  • Soul Circle: A community of women that surround you with love, healing, positive vibration and acceptance, and always have your back.

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - So, yesterday was International Women's Day, a globally celebrated day honoring the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Honoring women and all the amazing things we can do is what Have Some Fun Today is all about. Founded by a woman, surrounded by a team of women (and yes, a few awesome men, too) this "mindset brand" is all about lifting up our fellow females with positivity and love.

We love celebrating women. We love women who love to raise up other women. And women who don't buy the catty bullshit stereotypes and see the beauty in all of us rising up, like a phoenix from the ash.

    Be A Bucket Carrier

We are: mothers, daughters, sisters, friends. Women. Beautiful, thoughtful, creative women. How can we make the world a better place for all of us? How can we empower each other? We think it starts with something as simple as carrying a bucket...

"I love when people that have been through hell walk out of the flames carrying buckets of water for those still consumed by the flames..." Stephanie Sparkles

That quote is everything! We fell in love with that beautiful quote by Stephanie Sparkles that we found on Instagram. We can empower other women by being there and lending a hand. Yeah, we are those kind of women. Be a bucket carrier! Be the woman who says, "I've got you. Keeping walking. You're almost there..."

Medicine Women & Revolutionaries... We Kick Ass

This we know: with age comes wisdom and with experience comes an understanding of self that we just simply can't see when we're in the flames. What a beautiful thing when a woman who has been through the fire can say to another woman, "I'm here. I see you. I know what you're going through."

Women are inherent and instinctive healers. We are like ancient medicine women with herbs and salves in our well-worn leather bag that we dole out to those who are hurting or in pain. We've been rocking this nurturing thing pretty much from the beginning of time. We give birth to lots of things, babies, ideas, companies, music, art, revolutions (see Joan of Arc, Harriet Tubman, and Susan B. Anthony ). Women are powerful beyond measure, especially when we work together. You know that saying, "Women's Instinct"? That's not just a saying. That is gospel. We have an instinct born into us that some would argue means we work from "the heart".  And as nurturers, we've got the most powerful tool of all; love.

    Find Your Soul Circle

When surrounded ourselves with these kind of women, we've created our own soul circle. When we can't love ourselves, they will remind us why they do. They'll pick us up and dust us off and put us back together. They'll cheer the loudest for our victories and cry with us when we fail. There's pretty much nothing we can't do when we have that kind of energy and love around us. Get a soul circle. Be a bucket carrier and immerse yourself in the beauty of being a woman.

  • Five Things Every Woman Should Know

At HAVE SOME FUN TODAY, we're inspired by women. We love powerful, creative, thoughtful, unique women who follow their hearts. Women with vision and passion. Women with soul. It's the reason our founder Stephanie Taormina started the HSFT fashion and lifestyle brand aimed at celebrating women and honoring her late father's lifelong mantra. Our mission at HSFT is to lift women up, share empowerment and passion, and connect women to a community where we celebrate each other. There's beauty and compassion when we honor each other, and ourselves, by sticking together and rising above.

    1) Be The Light, Share the Light

Empower other women when they have a victory and take it as a win for all women. Yay women! Pettiness and jealousy can often derail us from supporting other women's success. Don't fall into the catty cliché that we see on reality TV.  Let other women's victories inspire and motivate you. We all move forward when a woman succeeds. It's called progress and we need more of it...

    2) It's No Contest... We're All Winners

It's life, not a beauty pageant or a Spelling Bee. We don't need to compare ourselves to everyone woman that walks in the room, or for that matter, into our lives. It's way better for all of us when we're all on the same team. Let's not worry about beating each other at the game but rather cheering on our fellow women as they cross the finish line.

    3) Common Threads

We are all someone's daughter and granddaughter, some of us are sisters and mothers. There are so many common threads that connect us as women. We've come a long way, baby! We've only had the right to vote in this country for 95 years. Many of us get paid less money to do the same job as our male counterparts. And all of us at some point have had to overcome at least one stereotype about being a woman.  Let's celebrate our similarities AND our differences and remember we are all in this together.

    4) Cultivate Friendships, Not Rumors

We've all be guilty of it.... You've heard something about someone and you can't wait to dish with a friend. It's a bad habit but it's easy to break. Be true and authentic. Instead of playing the junior hight game "telephone" and passing the rumor on down the line, what if you just called the person you've heard the gossip about? Maybe she needs a friend. If you've got an issue with another woman, be brave and straightforward enough to say it directly to her and not through someone else. Let's model positive behavior for our daughters and for young girls when it comes to how we treat other woman. Be THAT kind of woman.

    5) Hold On Tight To Your Girlfriends

Our girlfriends have been scientifically proven to be good for easing stress and making us feel better! If you have a group of women who lift you up or just one bestie who keeps you grounded, count yourself lucky. Research has shown that being with our girlfriends creates oxytocin in the body, which feels good and soothes anxiety. Add a glass of wine to that time with your bestie and it's bound to be sheer bliss! A good girlfriend will get you through the hardest of times of your life and be there when you're celebrating the best. Keep them close and love them up. They're irreplaceable.

    Woman's Work

As women, being nurturers and caretakers runs deep in our DNA. We do it for our families but when we do it for each other, we're a force of nature. There's a palpable energy capable of changing the world when we empower women with love and support. That's our mission at HSFT, share the love, spread the vibe. Live. Love. Wear. Share. And be part of the positivity. It's that easy.

  • The "Have Some Fun Tonight" black slouchy tank with metallic foil is the perfect gift for the fashionista.

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - Want to know how to give the most fabulous gifts for everyone on your list this year? Give the gift of HSFT.  We're a brand with soul; a company pushing positivity. Our goal is to change the world with love and HSFT products are designed with that in mind. When you give the gift of HSFT, you're giving the gift of the daily pep talk. What's not to love about that? Have Some Fun Today. It may be simple, but it's the reminder we all need not to take it so seriously. Here are five fabulous gift ideas for every type on your list.

    The Fashion Forward Friend

She's exceptionally chic, always on trend and dangerously close to being "impossible to buy for" because of her exquisite taste. She has style for days, but when you find the perfect gift for her, you know it. Enter the black, slouchy Have Some Fun Tonight tank with metallic foil lettering. She'll instantly recognize its versatility as a layering piece, perfect for pairing with high impact glam like her Tom Ford leather motorcycle jacket or classic Chanel tweed blazer. And yeah, she probably is going to Have Some Fun Tonight. You soooooo totally get her. Air kiss... #nailedit

    The Co-worker

Gift giving in the office doesn't have to be a bore, even if your boss is. Functional and practical is fine as long as it's still fabulous. Quick, write this down.... 3 sure thing "no brainer gifts" for co-workers: The Have Some Fun Today compact travel umbrella, the Crown luggage tag, and the HSFT coffee mug. Because what better place than the office to remind everyone to Have Some Fun Today. #lightenup #hsftoffice

    The Woman Who Has Everything

We all have that one name on our list that makes us cringe every year because you never know what to buy the woman who just buys it for herself. Mother-in-laws commonly fall into this category. Not that we're stero-typing, but typically they're detail oriented woman who know which side the salad fork goes on and they wouldn't dare forget to write a thank you note for the thoughtful hostess gift you brought to the last dinner party. Our embossed Crown Stationary Set is the perfect way to honor the woman who has it all. #details #hsftclassandstyle

    The Teen/Tween Girl

They're picky. They're overly dramatic and emotional. And they have the answer to everything. Don't default to your usual ITunes or Starbucks gift cards. Treat her like the princess she already thinks she is with our rose gold crown earrings or rose gold crown necklace. She'll scream with delight and tell you it's dope. (That means she likes it.) They're delicate and simple, not like your teeny/tweeny. And the necklace is great for layering. It's also the ideal gift for a princess of any age.  #whodoesntloveacrown

    The Hipster Brother

He's impossibly cool without even trying and he's offended if you spend too much on his gift or increase your carbon footprint by wrapping it. The Have Some Fun Today embroidered beanie hat is the perfect gift for him that makes it clear he's not trying too hard. And he's all about spreading the message of "living each day and finding some fun". So hell, yeah, he's HSFT! As long as he can take public transportation because he doesn't have a car. Tie some recycled, sustainable twine around it and you might just bring him to tears. HSFT, bro. #hsftforeveryone

  • It's October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month  and at HSFT, we're sharing ideas on health & wellness and issues affecting women. In honor of the fight against breast cancer, we're giving 20% of the proceeds from our "Pink Crown" embroidered baseball hat this month to our local breast cancer support services. Live. Love. Wear. Share.

You're already purposefully picking produce in the organic section of the grocery store. You've got an entire Pinterest board dedicated to "all natural" household cleaning options and you buy white vinegar in bulk. You get it. Why take any chances? Harsh chemicals can reek havoc on your health! But what about that stick you slather under your arm pits every day?

    It's the Pits

Did you know your deodorant may be bad for you? It's no secret that in recent years, research and laboratory studies have pointed to a possible links between cancer and chemical ingredients found in traditional deodorants and antiperspirants.

While there is conflicting information out there about how strongly some of this research correlates to cancer, there is no denying that many deodorants are full of harsh chemicals. We rub these chemicals repeatedly into our underarms, where it is quickly absorbed by our skin and close to breast tissue. That is a scary thought to a group of researchers in the U.K. who think that each of the chemicals used in many beauty products are concerning on their own, let alone when they are combined in one product.

    The Repeat Offenders

There are many chemicals and ingredients in deodorant and antiperspirant considered questionable for a variety of reasons. Here's a look at 3 big offenders.

Aluminum - This is a heavy metal and it is used in most deodorants and antiperspirants. It helps to literally clog the pores of our underarms and stop the sweating. Easily absorbed into the skin, it's thought to cause changes in the estrogen receptors in the body. Long-term use of products with aluminum are thought to increase risk of breast cancer and have been linked to Alzheimer's. While studies remain some what controversial about what aluminum's long-term risks truly are, we'd just prefer to play it safe.

Parabens - A quick glance on the back of most cosmetic or body products and you'll likely find they contain a paraben. Parabens are typically "YL" words like ethyl, methyl, and benzyl and they are particularly worrisome to our health. Research indicates parabens can mimic estrogen in the body, disrupt our hormonal balance and lead to early puberty in children. It's also been linked to hormone related-cancer. There are so many products now made paraben-free. Check out this website for a full list of paraben-free options

Triclosan - This is actually listed as a pesticide by the FDA, and um, Ewwwww! If you buy only organic fruits and veggies to avoid pesticides, why would you want it in your deodorant? It's particularly harsh on the skin and can cause dermatitis. Triclosan kills the odor causing bacteria underneath your arm. The problem is, it also kills our body's good bacteria. And believe it or not, good bacteria is super important to our health. Triclosan is thought to alter hormone levels and mess with bacteria resistance.

    Going Green to Smell Clean

We love using all-natural and organic products as we strive to maintain a healthy HSFT lifestyle. It may seem a daunting task and a poignantly pungent proposition to "go green" with your deodorant, but these days there are some truly amazing all-natural deodorants, free of harsh chemicals. Piper Wai, Schmidt's Natural Deodorant, Captain Blankenship's Lime & Vetiver cream deodorant, and Soapwalla's Deodorant Cream are just a few of the of the ones we've put to the test and love. They are thoughtful products, some are also vegan, and even the packing is beautiful. And as luck would have it, they fit perfectly in our canvas zipper HSFT clutch so you can Have Some Fun Today and smell amazing. Live a healthy, beautiful life and HSFT!

Have Some Fun Today Founder Stephanie Taormina and her bestie and HSFT team member Kristin Golden Mancuso

At HAVE SOME FUN TODAY, we're inspired by women! We love powerful, creative, thoughtful, unique women who follow their hearts and share their vision with those around them. It's the reason we started our "Inspiring Women" series on the blog.

    1) Don't Hate - Celebrate!

Empower other women when they have a victory and take it as a win for all women. Yay women! Don't become petty and jealous because another woman's success makes you feel insecure about your own. Let it inspire you and motivate you. We all move forward when a woman succeeds. It's called progress and we need more of it!

    2) It's No Contest... We're All Winners

There's no Blue Ribbon Winner or diamond tiara placed on your head for winning the big prize. It's life, not a beauty pageant or a Spelling Bee. Don't compare yourself to everyone woman that walks in the room, or for that matter, into your life. It's way better for all of us when we're all on the same side and not judging each other. Let's not worry about beating each other at the game but rather cheering on our fellow women as they cross the finish line.

    3) We Have More in Common Than We Think

We've come a long way, baby! We've only had the right to vote in this country for 95 years. Many of us get paid less money to do the same job as our male counterparts. And all of us at some point have had to overcome at least one stereotype about being a woman. We are all someone's daughter and granddaughter. Some of us are sisters and mothers. If it's gossip you've heard being dished around, then maybe she needs a friend. If you've got an issue with a woman, be brave and authentic enough to say it directly to her and not through someone else. Wouldn't it be a nicer world if we taught young girls to do this and we did it, too?

    5) Girlfriends Are Good For You

Our girlfriends have been scientifically proven to be good for easing stress and making us feel better! If you have a squad of women who lift you up or just one bestie who keeps you grounded, count yourself lucky. Research has shown that being with our girlfriends creates oxytocin in the body, which feels good and soothes anxiety. This is also thought to offset the negative effects of stress. A good girlfriend will get you through the hardest of times of your life and be there when you're celebrating the best. Keep them close and love them up. They're irreplaceable.

  • 5 Fall Fashion Trends That You Can Wear

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - Ruffles, metallics, and velvet, oh my! Fall Fashion mags are full of runway trends that are bold, outrageous and fabulous. Surprisingly, fall 2016 fashion has something for everyone and it's easier to pull off than you think. Wearable and accessible, some of these trends may already be in your closet.

    1. Hoodies

The fall fashion runways were filled with women in hoodies and androgynous-style sweatshirts, paired with everything from leather pants to maxi skirts. Comfort is on point this season and we're kind of crushing on our Limited Edition Embroidered Zip Hoodie from HAVE SOME FUN TODAY and our classic HSFT zip hoodie.

    2. Chokers

This is a super chic and easy trend for anyone to pull off, whether you go beaded glitz or choose a simple or statement choker. And you don't have to spend a lot of money to do it. With jeans and wedge boots or as a little black dress accessory, it runs the gamut. We love this simple black velvet choker from Topshop for $15 (velvet is hot for fall) and this elegant  gold choker with draped chain by Jennifer Zeuner at Neiman Marcus for $265.

    3. Suits

There was the power suit of the 90's but this season's fashion trend is a nod to men's wear with a twist. A stylish wide leg pant and longer jackets, and slim cut suits with lean cigarette pant styling, like this one at J Crew. You can pair with a graphic tee for casual or layer with a sweater vest or crisp white button down for office attire. Boardroom or Dance Floor, it's a no-brainer.

    4. Color Trend - Tan

Quick! Run to your closet and pull out all those tan blazers, pants, and sweaters you have in this classic color. (No khaki's please!) It's preppy and classic, and flattering on everyone. These Griffin Pants from Need Supply Company are a gorgeous way to wear this trend and the neutral color gives you countless options. We're betting you have more things in your closet in this hot color for fall than you even know. See, you're on fleek and didn't even know it.

    5. Velvet

It's not just for holiday parties anymore. Somewhere there's a pair of vintage velvet wide leg trousers that we can't wait to take out of hiding. It's easy for anyone to infuse velvet into their wardrobe. We're seeing velvet wrap tops and jeans and even velvet thigh high boots in stores and online. A little or a lot, you're dressed to kill when you've got a little "velvet crush" going on.
