The Beauty of Inspiration
HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - We love finding inspiration that moves us and speaks to us, so much so that it makes us want to share it. Today it was the beautiful words of poem.
Inspiration comes in all different shapes and forms. It's how Have Some Fun Today was born; the words of a father living on through a brand his daughter created, to uplift and inspire. Today we wanted to share this beautiful poem that we stumbled across on Elephant Journal by Carly Morgan Gross.
At Have Some Fun Today, we lift up the movers and shakers, the glass ceiling breakers, the light carriers and the creators. We love the beautiful women that come together to form communities and share their stories and who embody the message of HSFT. We love finding others who do, too.
Live. Love. Wear. Share.
This Is For The Sensitive Souls: A Poem For Women
By Carla Morgan Gross
This is for the sensitive souls who feel it all. For the long processors, the bedtime criers, the ones who are blinded by the light.
This is for the women who’ve had to learn the hard way that “no” is an act of respect.
For the stomachs shaken by the sight of anything impure, the hearts that give too much—is there even such a thing?

Have Some Fun Today is a lifestyle brand that’s got soul. The roots of our company began in the mantra that our founder’s late father used to say to his kids when they set out for a new day. Have Some Fun Today. Those words stuck. They set in motion a mindset and a philosophy that HSFT founder Stephanie Rado Taormina never forgot. And after his passing, she decided it was a mindset and philosophy she wanted to share with the world.
“I think it probably makes her feel closer to her Dad,” says Stephanie’s mom, Elaine Rado, of her daughter’s company. “Joe always encouraged all of them and I think when her Dad died, she just realized what a great thing that saying was.”
The Humble Beginnings of Barbies and Nuns
Stephanie is the oldest of five siblings. Her mother says it was clear from the beginning that her first born daughter was creative. “She was always an interior decorator and fashion designer,” she says.
“Barbie World” took up a large portion of the basement where Stephanie and her three sisters could dream up anything they wanted. It’s no wonder those early days of creative expression and playing with Barbies would lead to her working in the fashion industry, becoming an artist and an interior designer.
“She was always creative, from the time she was little. I can remember the nuns at school telling me she was always day dreaming. She was a good student, but she was always in another place,” she remembers. “She entered an art contest and she won. She did beautiful art work, even back then.”
What was it like raising five children?
“Juggling!” she says, laughing. “It was always a balancing act.” Her four daughters and son kept her on the go.
All five of the Rado children were encouraged to be individually expressive and creative. “…. as long as they weren’t doing anything wrong,” she says with a twinkle in her eye. Elaine says the creative thinking runs in the family.
Elaine credits her own parents with instilling in her a strong work ethic, which she thinks her children have inherited. Her parents both worked long hours, her dad working 7 days a week. She was raised the only girl in an Italian family with three brothers, and was expected to help with the cleaning and the chores. “My kids have picked up those values. They are not afraid of work,” she says proudly.
She and her husband Joe were six months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary when he passed a few years ago. She says it was after he died when she realized the impact he’d had on so many people. A former high school teacher and wrestling coach, he served as a mentor to many kids. Weekly steak dinners at Coach Rado’s house with members of the wrestling team was not unusual. Many of his former wrestlers and students came to pay respects at his funeral and told her how important he’d been in their lives. “I understood it then,” she says, realizing the legacy he’d left behind.
A Reminder of a Father’s Love
It’s those four little words, Have Some Fun Today, that daughter Stephanie is making part of her father’s legacy, too. He wanted his kids to find the fun in life, see the joy in the everyday. Life is what you make it, so make it FUN!
“My husband would also say, “If you are going to do something, do it right the first time. The kids have learned that, too. And he liked to have fun!” she says with a big smile. “But you already know that…”

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - We all need inspiration. Creating inspirational spaces in your home that can be designed to met the needs of your life is the perfect balance of form and function. Today on our new vlog HSFT episode, HSFT Founder and CEO Stephanie Taormina visits some places in New York City that give her inspiration. As a designer of both interior space and fashion, she looks to fine art, architecture and even fabric to spark her creativity. Color and texture, simple or intricate design.
Stephanie believes in making your living space an inspiring place to be. It's easy to refresh and revive the places you spend most of your time with a few simple changes and additions. Start with your living room. Pillows are a simple way to have an immediate impact. Our HAVE SOME FUN TODAY luxe message pillow is bold and graphic and fun reminder to seize the day! We love it paired with other patterned and textured pillows on a crisp white couch in the living room.
As an fashion designer, Stephanie's creativity has brought to life our HSFT luxe tees, totes, and other goodies as part of her vision for the brand. She believes in classic, clean lines and decadent comfort. She loves a bold graphic pattern and mixing textures.
"Texture is a great way to refresh a space. Layering a faux animal hide rug over a main focal area in the room creates a chic effect that works with traditional to modern interiors," Steph says. She also recommends replacing a coffee table with a natural textured ottoman, in a fresh neutral upholstered linen, and accenting with a cool tray, like the ones you can find from your local Homegoods. "It's easy to add accessories like a great looking candle, an orchid from the grocery store, and a pretty coffee table book." Instant transformation!
Inspiration is all around us, if we look hard enough. Creating spaces in your home that spark a sensory experience or perfectly meets our demands and needs is a sanctuary we always retreat to. What inspires you?

Here’s a little story we’ve got to tell….
So we've been working up a little something at the HSFT studios that we're beyond excited to share with the world. Today we officially launched the First Episode for our new vlog series, Have Some Fun Today: Building a Brand With Soul, Episode One "It Started With A Vision". We think the story of how we came to be is a really good one and it makes us who we are, a brand with soul.
Have Some Fun Today is so much more than luxury goods with a positive message. It’s the legacy of a father’s love, it’s the mission of one woman to change the world, it’s a “kick-your-ass-claw-your-way-to-success” kind of story.
It Started With A Vision
We hired an amazing videographer, Patrick Corcoran, who followed us around with his camera for a while and helped us capture the essence of what Have Some Fun Today is all about.
In Have Some Fun Today: Building a Brand With Soul, you’ll see the blood, sweat, and tears of manifesting an idea, with a fire in our gut and sheer determination. You'll see that time we hosted a Happy Hour at Facebook. Or the time we got lost in Philly on our way to an event. Real life. Real heart. A real brand, with soul.

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - In our series "Raising Women", we've put the focus on what it means to parent girls to become amazing women. But we are also celebrating what it means to "Raise Women" in our community, as in lifting them up, acknowledging them, helping them, supporting them, and being an advocate for all women. Today we feature HSFT woman Brittany Decker.
Brittany Decker is the poster girl for Community Involvement. With 3-year-old twins and a teenage son at home, to say she is busy is an understatement. Spend any amount of time with her and you get the feeling that's the way she likes it. She and husband Jonathan both believe in the importance of giving back with their volunteer efforts. "I volunteer to make our community a better place for our children and to help the non-profits that are doing so much to help everyone."
She is currently the vice president of community development for The Junior League of Reading and they have created programs to help empower young girls. One such program is the Young Women's Summit held in the spring in the Reading School District. A four day leadership program aimed at girls between 11-14, they work on issues like self esteem, building confidence and facing the challenges many of the girls deal with at home. Brittany describes it as eye-opening and inspiring. "Some of the things they deal with on a day-to-day basis are horrific. Abusive parents, not having a safe home to live in or not enough food. And they want to learn how to move forward in life and be a better person, even with their circumstances."
Making a Difference
Brittany will be the president of the Reading Junior League in 2018. She also is currently the president of the Leadership Berks Alumni Council, the restaurant committee chair for Opportunity House Souper Bowl event, and event assistant at Habitat for Humanity. Whew! That may be more exhausting than the 3-year-old twins, but she does it all with a megawatt smile and gracious heart while truly living the Have Some Fun Today philosophy.
When it comes to supporting women around her, Brittany believes you "raise them up" by just being there. "I think it means being a great friend and that encompasses being there through the good and bad and reaching out and supporting them in the highs and lows."
We couldn't agree more.

HAVE SOME FUN TODAY - Gift giving can be rather impersonal and boring these days. We give gifts to remind the ones we love how much they mean to us, but we live in a world where technology has made drone package delivery a reality. What could more impersonal and removed than that?
But what if a gift could inspire you? What if you gave inspiration in the form of a beautiful gift or could give the gift of a daily pep talk? That's a pretty awesome gift. And that's what we're all about at HSFT.
A Company With Soul
Have Some Fun Today started with a mission to inspire people. We've made our products to reflect our philosophy and remind us all to find a way, every single day, to simply "have fun". Those 4 little words are found on our luxe t-shirts, totes, hats and accessories. When you share HSFT, you're giving more than just a great t-shirt or tote, you're giving the gift of positivity. You're reminding those you love to remember to take a moment to enjoy life. Life is a gift. Give a good one.
Something for Everyone
Got a friend who loves to work out? Our water bottle and gray HSFT muscle tank are the perfect gym accessories. Office gifts for co-workers got you stumped? HSFT crown stationary is perfect for intra-office communication with style, or maybe it's our Crown luggage tags for all the business travel. Whoever you're buying for, the possibilities from HSFT are endless. Trucker hats, cashmere-soft fleece sweatshirts, rose gold crown necklace, candles....We've packaged our positivity and HSFT vibe into so many great gifts, there's truly something for everybody on your gift giving list.
Make it Personal
When you're giving HSFT, you're sharing the joy of life that we all sometimes forget to cultivate. Have Some Fun Today! It's just life. If you can't see the beauty and find the fun, it's pretty meaningless. Give a gift this year that is an inspirational reminder for those you love, all year long. And get your own personal pep talk, while you're at it. Give it, live it. Or as we like to say, Live. Love. Wear. Share. We know when you live the HSFT way of life, it only gets better.
