Do you ever feel like the end of October and early November has you blazing towards the holidays at warp speed?
I love this time of year, with beauty of the fall and the beginnings of cozying up to winter, but it always feels like we’re knee-deep into Christmas before we’ve emptied the Halloween candy bowl and tossed out pumpkins.
Less Stress More FUN
The holidays can create more stress than actual joy and FUN. And since we’re all about the “Have Some Fun Today” mindset, we’ve been thinking of ways to keep the HSFT in our holidays this year.
We've created our HSFT checklist to help you do more than survive this Holiday Season. Here's to less stress and more ways to Have Some Fun this year!
1. Check the Box
We’ve always believed that HSFT is a mindset and a choice that we make each and every day. Let’s take back our power and own it this holiday. Just decide right now that you are going to Have Fun. No. Matter. What. It really does start with that.
I find that there are always plenty of reasons for me to be stressed out and overwhelmed, but when I am mindful enough to choose to look for the FUN, it changes the course of everything else.
2. Wear Your Positivity
Start with something simple, like what you’re wearing. A great outfit that’s chic and comfortable can make you feel good and change your entire attitude. Don’t overthink it.
We love a “uniform” of classic pieces that you don’t have to think about and that interchange with things in your closet. A sleek legging, a fantastic fitting jean, a black fitted skirt. I swear by this in my own daily routine and think it is a powerful way to keep stress free. I always start by writing it down.
I like to create a blueprint or an action plan that keeps me on task and keeps it SIMPLE. When you start with simple, you’re one step ahead of the stress.
Maybe you won’t do holiday cards this year or maybe you’re not giving all the neighbors homemade Christmas cookies, -and that’s okay! Set your intention by writing down not only what you will do, but also what you won’t do. It’s like giving yourself permission to not overdo it.
Studies show that when you write something down, you are twice as likely to follow through or meet your goal…. So, stick to your plan.
What overwhelmed you last year? Don’t give a repeat performance, make it different this year and sketch out a less-stressed holiday plan.
4. Put YOU On Your List
I am a big believer in rewarding myself or treating myself when I’ve had a particularly challenging day or a grueling task. There’s nothing like a relaxing bath for me where I just indulge in the ceremony of preparing a sacred space and I can just let go. That’s the ultimate HSFT.
I draw the water, add some nourishing bath oils and light candles. I love our HSFT essential oil candle and some relaxing music to create that peaceful ambience. The smells, the hot water; it’s heavenly.
Make time for you! It’s a must when we get so busy and overwhelmed. Creating moments like this for yourself is crucial for creating balance and gratitude.
5. Give The gift of A Good Vibe

I’ve always believed in the mind-body-spirit connection in my life and it’s never more important than during the holidays. It’s easy to lose ourselves in the holiday party food and a few glasses of bubbly.
I love to indulge in my Italian family’s delicious cooking, especially during the holidays. But keeping my time at the gym keeps me grounded and stops the guilt trip when I do indulge. The holidays can be physically taxing so we need all the strength we can get. Working out makes us feel good and it keeps us strong.
